A Red Kite flew north west over Tower Hill heading towards Midgley Moor. Sadly my camera was up all wrong so no pictures.

15th July
Out on the tops and a female Hen Harrier was a nice early surprise, no doubt a failed breeder from farther north or she had her young stolen by un-natural England. Looks like most of the Shorties have failed, we couldn't find a single bird today.

Me and DF checked out a local site last night and the first bird we saw was a Hobby, which was the first I have had in Calderdale this year. Also Peregrine, Sparrowhawk and 3 Kestrels.
