24th August

Out on the moors again tonight and the 2 Marsh Harriers were seen again at dusk, we also had Hobby, Merlin, Kestrel and Buzzard but just missed a Hen.

23rd August

Another Redstart at Roils Head today but not much else. First summer tatty male Marsh Harrier again on the moors, also juv Peregrine, 4 Buzzards, Sparrowhawk, 3 Kestrels, Red-legged Partridge, Curlew and Snipe.

21st August evening

Out this evening with Andy and it was very quiet but for the tatty looking Marsh Harrier which was seen to make a kill, a distant Barn Owl, 3 Buzzards, 3 Kestrels and 6 Grey Partridge.

21st August

At last some migrants on my local Roils Head patch today. 1 Redstart, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Chiffchaffs and 2 Willow Warblers, also 2 Kestrels, 2 Sparrowhawks, 50 Linnets, 20 Goldfinch and 8 Pied Wagtails.

19th August

Out and about on the moors this evening and another Redstart was a nice find. Ringtail Hen and juvenile female Marsh Harrier were both found squabbling with each other, others included 5 Buzzards, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrels and a Barn Owl.

12th August

2 Marsh Harriers tonight also 1 Spotted Flycatcher and a Barn Owl that's all. Earlier Turnstone, 2 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover and a Green Sandpiper being chased by a Peregrine at Fly Flats.

11th August

A good evenings birding produced a Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine, 4 Buzzards and 6 Kestrels, also a juvenile Cuckoo, Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher etc.

7th August

Returned to Mickletown with Roy this evening, the Bustard proved more elusive but eventually showed quite well. Also 2 Red Kites, Marsh Harrier, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, possible Hobby, Common Tern etc.

6th August

Me and Dave zipped over to Mickletown today for the Little Bustard which showed really well taking my Yorkshire list up to 333 and British to 391. Then we visited Fairburn and had good views of the Cattle Egret.

The tatty looking Marsh Harrier was seen again today, not much else but a brief Peregrine and 6 Wheatears.
