Caspians legs

Going through yesterdays pictures of the Caspian Gull I came across this rather blurred image of the bird, I have tried to sharpen it up as much as I can. I think it shows just how long the legs are on this species.

Iceland Gull a few more

A few more shots of yesterday's first winter Iceland Gull at Redcar Tarn, nice close views.

27th January anyone got a light

Had a rare trip outside our local area to Redcar Tarn at Keighley for first winter Iceland and Caspian Gulls. We were not disappointed with both birds sat together at close range, the Caspian trying to swallow a lighter???? Took so many photos it will take me days to go through them all. Just wish we had a local site like this one, must have another visit. Love Gulls.

Neil Peart RIP

So sad to here of the passing of probably the best rock drummer ever. I saw Rush 7 times over the year's and Im not a drummer but he was the only one who when it came to a solo I stayed and watched in awe, did not go to the bar or bog just was astonished at what he was doing. Not a lot of people know that he was also a very keen birder. Now the only thing to do is to dust off my old vinyl record of Hemispheres and blast it out. RIP Neil.

My walk today produced only my third local Raven when a huge brute of a bird came low over Highroad Well chased by a single Jackdaw.
