The Med Gull appears to have lost a leg? it had great difficulty standing, its wings were flailing around as it tried to get its balance. There were fewer gulls about today possibly due to the thaw?
The cross-legged photo does look odd although some of the other photos look quite normal. I wonder if it has roosted on water and got the leg frozen in and maybe damaged it that way trying to get it out of the ice. It would be interesting to find out more about the Ogden bird to see if that's ok, as it could be the same individual.(?)
