News broke this evening that 4 Bee-eaters were seen at Todmorden yesterday evening at 6.30PM. Unfortunatly for dedicated Calderdale birders they were surpressed until the next day when you guessed it there was no sign of them. If it had been the middle of the breeding season and there was a chance of breeding then I would fully understand the need to keep it quiet but at this time of year the birds would have been passing through and I see no reason to denigh other birders probably a once in a lifetime chance to see this species in Calderdale.
