Filey late September

Arctic Skua chasing sarni tern off the brigg 23rd Sept.

Not bad photos of Arctic Skua.

Found this 1st winter Med Gull off the north side of Filey Brigg on 21st September. Didnt have much else that week apart from a Little Egret in off the sea at Hunmanby Gap on 19th Sept.
A good sea watch on 24th Sept included 22 Great Skaus, 12 Arctic Skuas, 96 Red Throated Divers, 8 Sooty Shearwaters, 1 Manx Shearwater and 50+ Common Scoters.
On 23rd Sept a Short-eared Owl came inoff the sea chased by several large gulls and 2 Kestrels were also picked up coming in off the sea one of which was catching small insects in it talons as it came so beware!
More to come later.
